Cinefamily Board of Directors
One former board member told this website that meetings consisted of “just hanging out and drinking.” Another director described specifically joining the board to solve problems like the lack of an employee manual, an organizational understanding of labor law, or a clear organizational chart. This board member eventually grew discouraged and resigned, citing Cinefamily actions that “killed any hope I had of making that a safe working environment or a safe place for patrons,” and concluding “it still took me a long time to realize that it was malevolence, not ignorance,” guiding decision makers.
There were reportedly changes in the composition of Cinefamily’s board between March 2017 (when the board was made aware of the scandal) and August 2017 (when the board publicly acknowledged the scandal).
