Screening Venues
Southern California is home to many fine venues, as recent press coverage attests.
In late 2019, a Los Angeles-area film programmer asked this website for help compiling a list of venues where screenings could be held.
Cataloged below — in an interactive map, a downloadable Excel spreadsheet, and a simple list — are 115 different Southern California venues, with over 250 screens between them, and a total seating capacity over 37,000.

We have made best efforts to ensure accuracy as of February 2020. Some of these venues may be known by other names; categorization is idiosyncratic. For each category below, the number in parentheses is the number of venues. For each venue within a category, the number in parentheses is the number of seats. Venue contact info and additional data in the nearby Excel. We’re working on making this sortable and including technical specs—projectors, parking, union status, etc.
